Check out this amazing video demo by Wired Magazine on what could be the beginning of a new era for the publishing industry. With the introduction of the Apple iPad, magazines and newspapers that were once struggling with smaller and smaller customer bases, and fleeing advertisers, might get a second wind and potentially be able to re-invent themselves. Basically any periodical out there will have an exponentially wider field to interact with customers, tell stories, showcase advertisers, and share opinions as this new technology opens doors that we were not even thinking about not too long ago. The “Race” just got faster and much more interesting. Photographers, writers, videographers, advertisers, readers, art directors, magazine editors and the list goes on, should all be extremely excited and restless about this new age to come. As a photographer, I just can’t wait for it to happen, to be able to share better imagery and tell stories in so many different ways.
